Casseta & Planeta, Urgente!

Casseta & Planeta is a Brazilian group of comedians who run a TV show named Casseta & Planeta Urgente, broadcast by Rede Globo. The humour featured on the show is mostly satirical, relating to religious or ethical groups, and minorities. The group founded a company called Toviassu Produções Artísticas, whose name is an acronym composed of syllables from the phrase "Todo viado é surdo" – "Every gay is deaf"; which is the ending of a widely known Brazilian practical joke. Each one of the seven members has a specific function within the company. They present their TV show at Rede Globo and publish a website and many books, among other products, for example the "Machobol". Originally a magazine named Casseta Popular and a humour newspaper called O Planeta Diário, the two teams joined forces and were hired by Rede Globo to become writers for the network's comedy shows, starting with TV Pirata in 1988. A few years later, they starred in their own show.

When threatened by God with being sent to the country she was supposed to help grow, she despairs and seeks out her friend, the angel Gabriel. To help Celestina, Gabriel asks the Almighty to let her stay in heaven for another six months. God, however, imposes a condition: Celestina must make a Brazilian citizen more honest, dignified, and compassionate, without disrespecting the free will that every human being should have. To fulfill her mission, Celestina chooses the swindler Maria Escandalosa, a charismatic, beautiful, and kind-hearted young woman, daughter of the equally swindler Tomás Euclides. The irreverent Dulcinéa struggles to keep her revue theater, *Mambembe*, afloat; the building itself belongs to the traditional Maldonado family. The patriarch, Salvador Maldonado—a conservative man—keeps a tight rein on the clan, maintaining control over both the business and his children: Joana, an elegant and snobbish woman who is the staunchest defender of the views held by Pops, as the children call him; Téo, who has always silently submitted to the old man's high-handedness; Walter, dominated by his older sister and his father's favorite; and Lalucha, the youngest, a film student who challenges the status quo and rebels against the family's stuffy conservatism.

Dulcinéa Vai à Guerra

With new debts, the comedic Dulcinéa is struggling to save her theater once again when she meets the street children Caco, Minga, Cristina, Márcia, and Mico and gets the idea to put on a children's show to turn things around, but taming the little rascals is an arduous task. The new owner of the building, the Count of Castelnuovo, can't wait for the theater to close to build a commercial building, plotting to ruin Dulcinéa's plans and counting on the help of social worker Helena to get rid of the children. The Count also prevents his daughter, Jerusa, from dating the humble Thales because he wants her to marry the wealthy old man Camilo Batateira, putting the housekeeper Murcia to watch over her. There's also the romance between Carolina and Marcelo, thwarted by the wicked Ludmila, and the comical messes created by Lucrécia to prevent her son Mateus from marrying Mariana and leaving home.
