Phil McCordic

Biography

Phil McCordic is a Toronto-based television creator/producer. He has worked for two decades in front and behind the camera. He is the creator and show-runner of two television series: Zerby Derby (3 seasons, TVO/TFO) and Science Max, Experiments at Large (3 Seasons, TVO). In 2020 Phil launched Windy Isle Entertainment Inc, a new production company that will premiere its first show, 'Mittens and Pants' in the fall of 2022 on CBC and Sky UK. Phil has also produced a number of web series: 'According to Kids' for CBC and 'How Much is Too Much' for YTV. Phil has credits as a creator, host, producer, director, researcher, writer, story-editor, editor and even graphics department. His creations are viewed worldwide with a combined global audience of 200 million. He is the winner of two Gemini awards, a YMA award and 3 Canadian Screen Awards (for each of the three seasons of Science Max, Experiments at large).

Weird Years

Weird Years is a Canadian family animated series and sitcom produced by Lenz Entertainment and Mercury Filmworks. Created by Jason Hopley and Jamie Shannon, the show was aired on YTV from November 2006 to June 2007. 26 half-hour episodes of the show were produced. The series follows the Dorkovitch family, who emigrated from the fictional Kryobia in Eastern Europe to Happy Valley, Labrador, Canada. The family try to adapt to life in the New World and maintain the traditions of their homeland. Weird Years is an animated series and sitcom about the plumber Donko Dorkovitch and his eccentric family, who come to North America from the fictional Kryobia in Eastern Europe. The show takes a look into the adventures of the Dorkovitch family in the 'new world'.[2] They live in the Labrador town of Happy Valley.
