Pathfinder

Around the year 1000 AD warlike people, the so-called "tjuder", roam in northern Scandinavia. As they brutally kill a family in a remote area, including the parents and their little daughter, the family's teenage son, Aigin, observes the slaughter. He manages to flee from these killers and reaches a camp with other Sámi whose inhabitants are worried if he has been able to hide his track. Afraid of the murderous people, they decide to flee to the coast. The boy stays alone to avenge his family's murder. Unfortunately, they get him before he can do anything and force him to lead them to the other Sámi. He guides them but has a plan to destroy the barbarous people before reaching the camp.

Dunderland

Dunderland Valley, 1695. A young maiden is accused of witchcraft. Her persecutors end her life in the bottomless pits of the Djupkista Waters. In the years to follow, numerous horrendous events and tragedies strike the valley. In 2011, the young, aspiring theater director Laura arrives in the valley with an ensemble of Norway’s premier actors. They are soon made aware of the valley's dark and bloody history. Then the star actor disappears.

The Boy from Lapland

A year in the life of the Sami boy Ante. He is the son of a reindeer herder, and he dreams of taking over from his father. He loves life on the Arctic tundra, but when fall comes he has to start boarding school, while the family follows the reindeer on winter pastures. He struggles to adapt at school, but gradually he gets to know Per, who becomes his best friend. Together they plan the future. When the family has to make a difficult choice, Ante feels betrayed and disappointed. But Ante does not give up on his dream of a life on the tundra.

At school they used to call him Bázo, a Sami expression for a slightly retarded person. In his village they still use the name behind his back. In a way it is true. Emil is not the smartest person in the little mountain village where he lives with his father. he never even learned how to read or write properly.

Sami folk singer Mari Boine Persen, the Sami pop group Captain Morgan, and Ellen Marit Eira Solbakke perform traditional joik. Contemporary Sami music is also presented by Halvdan Nedrefjord.
