Memories Beyond Horizon

“Memories Beyond Horizon” is a Chinese reality TV show , created to spotlight emerging domestic talent in film and TV. Produced in collaboration with Zhejiang Television, Alibaba’s Youku video service, and Hong Kong’s TVB, the show features veteran film and television figures mentoring a group of 18 artists from both the mainland and Hong Kong. Each episode focuses on reinterpreting iconic scenes from classic Hong Kong films such as “Infernal Affairs” and “New Dragon Gate Inn” for their acting challenges. Among the mentors are renowned Hong Kong directors and actors, including Yee Tung-sing and Francis Ng Chun-yu, while participants include graduates from professional acting schools, industry veterans, and individuals known for modeling, singing, or high-profile relationships.

The Amazing Strategist Liu Bowen

Aided by Liu Bowen's amazing ability to predict the future, Zhu Yuanzhang overthrew the Mongol Yuan and established the Ming Empire. Yuan Princess Nanfeng, after a failed attempt to assassinate Emperor Yuanzhang, was blinded and sought refuge in the shop of Liu Bowen's good friend, A Tian where she ends up also be-friending Bowen and his sister-in-training, A Xiu. Finding out about Nanfeng's identity, Bowen took her in and sought to restore her sight while keeping her from attempting another assassination on the Emperor in hopes of dispelling the emnity between Emperor Yuanzhang and the Yuan. Unfortunately, Ming official Hu Weiyong, for the sake of personal gain, influences Emperor Yuanzhang to try to have Nanfeng killed. Thus begins a battle of wits between Liu Bowen and Hu Weiyong in which the outcome will decide the fate of the Ming.-- TTV

Set from the 1920s to the 1940s, the story follows the playful and cowardly Beile Halan of the former Qing Dynasty whose life changes tremendously after he obtains a secret record to the treasures of the imperial tombs. In 1909, Halan (Fu Dalong) was born inside a dilapidated palace in the capital. He is childhood sweethearts with Xiao Yuelou (Dou Xiaoxuan). He once entered the palace as a study companion where he falls in love with imperial cuisine and befriends Godly Cook Xie (Liu Peiqi).

Yu Hong leaves her home village and starts university in Beijing, where she develops a consuming and compulsive relationship with another student. The student riots from 1989 then ensue and take a toll on their lives.

Duel of Kung Fu

"Dual of Kung Fu" focuses on action and martial arts, taking the rise of Chinese action movies and the question of epochs as a guide. Learning Drunken Boxing and other Chinese martial arts moves recreates classic action movie scenes and highlights the honing of young actors' acting skills. The whole process of training, cultural exchange and learning, in order to showcase the industry ecology behind action movies, tries to trigger a new round of attention and discussion amongst society about Chinese Kung Fu and action actors.
